Curriculum Comments

  • Tap, Modern, Variations, Pointe, Jazz
  • Technique classes daily, plus pointe, variations, tap, jazz, modern and pilates
  • Ballet four times a week. No articulated curriculum. Varried a lot depending on the teacher
  • Upper level students take 6 technique classes a week; with roughly 4 days of pointe work; one variations class per week; and one day each of Modern, Tap (elective), Jazz (elective) and pilates (elective).

Additional Comments

  • School offers some mentoring sessions to older students if desired

Describe School Culture

  • Toxic from the top.
  • Intense but welcoming, tight-knit class groups
  • Disorganized
  • The admin staff is small and the teaching staff is mostly contractual so things can slip through the cracks or get missed.

Placement Notification Timing

  • Depends. Sometimes at the end of year, sometimes at the end of Intensive.
  • End of spring semester prior to summer
  • May/June, after spring recital
  • Within a week or so after the end of term. We do know that some students are deferred at times to see how they progress over the summer. We have not experienced that.
